Sophia Muharram was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and raised in Miami, Florida. She is a bilingual dual citizen and comes from a very proud Brazilian family! She is a first generation student who just graduated from the Boston Conservatory for musical theatre (musical theatre writing emphasis) and is passionate about sharing and creating stories that connect with audiences, especially Latiné and LGBTQ+ stories.
She received her high school musical theatre diploma from New World School of the Arts in Miami, and knew from the get-go that theatre is what she wanted to do. She is very grateful to have a family who has supported her from the very beginning, and has sacrificed so much for her to be where she is now. Doing theatre feeds her soul and heart, and she feels very lucky to be able to perform when she has the opportunity to do so! Muharram made her professional debut in Lizzie: the musical as the title role at the Umbrella Center of the Arts in Concord, MA, during her junior year of college. Muharram was last seen as Jackie Onassis/Eleanor Roosevelt and others in Hub Theatre Company's production of 46 Plays for America's First Ladies in Boston, MA.

At the end of April, I showcased with my musical theatre class in Boston, and in May, NYC! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Boston Conservatory with a musical theatre writing emphasis right after NYC showcase.
I am so excited to be performing in Reagle music theatre's production of Evita this summer! If you're in the Waltham, MA / Boston area from July 11-20, be sure to stop by :)
What's New?
